The one to see first

Rounds and the run card

Feeding, medication, potty, play and night checks are generated from each dog's intake and pushed to the boarding team's phones as they come due. Every one is signed off with an outcome and a note, so at 9 pm you can see who ate and who got their pill. The run card prints one page per dog for the kennel door: photo, owner's number, feeding and meds with tick boxes per time, potty and play schedule, handling notes, the vet, and who's allowed to pick up.

  • Intake per dog: their food or yours, amounts and times, meds with doses, belongings with photos, weight in and out, play group, emergency vet and spend cap
  • Pupdates: a photo and a line texted to the owner and pinned to their account page
  • Stay log with appetite, bathroom, mood, weight and incidents
  • Live camera links for owners of dogs in the building
What boarding gets

Everything, in the words you'd use.

Boarding is $49 a month on Base. Run grooming or daycare too and every service is $10 off. Grooming, boarding and daycare together is $107.

The board

Nights, not hours.

01
  • Room types and rooms with rates, extra-pet pricing, species and colors; rooms marked ready, dirty, isolation or out of service
  • Arrivals, departures, in-house and requests at a glance, with live availability
  • Peak-season pricing, minimum stays and deposits
  • Online boarding requests: dates, room type with live availability, extras and a deposit quote, confirmed by text

Intake and care

Everything the team needs to know, captured once.

02
  • Feeding and medication schedules that become the rounds
  • Alternate pickup people, emergency vet and a spend cap, signed at drop-off
  • Vaccine rules for boarding set separately from grooming, with a grace period and a vet portal that asks the vet to confirm
  • Pet codes that follow the dog: medication, senior, biter, great tipper, and yours

Owners

Fewer "how is he doing?" calls.

03
  • Two-way texting from your own number: confirmations, reminders (reply C to confirm), ready-for-pickup with the after photo, receipts, campaigns and birthday texts, with STOP and quiet hours handled. 300 texts a month included.
  • Pupdate photos mid-stay, and a customer account page with the stay, the photos, the receipt and the balance
  • Photos customers text to your number land on the dog's record, tagged Current, Desired cut, Another dog they like, or a skin concern, so "I want this!" is on file before the dog arrives.
  • Review requests after pickup that route five stars to Google and Yelp

Check-out and money

The stay, the groom and the extras on one ticket.

04
  • Check-out billing with late fees and extras, into the same checkout and receipts as grooming
  • Cards on file, a reader, cash, gift cards and store credit, split tenders
  • Undo a checkout or refund part of a payment with a manager code
  • Packages and memberships with recurring billing

Staff and the business

The boarding team lands on Rounds; the owner sees the whole picture.

05
  • Staff who work as any mix of boarding team, daycare team, groomer, bather and front desk, with their own landing screen
  • Payroll on a payment-received basis: commission, hourly or both, overtime rules by state, a time clock with PINs, tips split by each groomer's share of the service dollars, pay stubs with year-to-date, QuickBooks and Gusto or ADP exports.
  • Year-end 1099-NEC forms and an e-file CSV, with W-9s collected digitally and tax IDs stored encrypted.
  • Reports by location, side-by-side comparison for multi-site owners, profit and loss, expenses, tax set-aside

The rest

What used to be three more subscriptions.

06
  • The Assistant: press "How do I", type or say it, and it walks you through the task on your own screen with a spotlight and a voice. A daily brief before you open and a weekly read on the business.
  • VaxFetch™: clients text a photo of their vaccine records and it logs every shot and expiration date on the right dog, saves the vet's clinic, phone and email, and emails the vet for the update when a shot comes due before the next visit. No staff time. On Growth and Ultimate.
  • A free website at yourshop.rockdogpro.com (or your own domain), built from your services, hours, photos and reviews, with a Book now button that goes straight to your booking page. Four looks, edit the words, publish.
  • Waivers signed on the tablet, by text or at the lobby kiosk
  • Import from Gingr, Kennel Connection, PetExec, MoeGo or a spreadsheet, feeding and medication details included
  • Two-factor sign-in, an admin lock at the front desk, a recycle bin with Undo, nightly off-site backups, alerts when a charge or a text fails, a manager code for refunds and undoing a checkout, and a full export of everything, any time.
Questions

Straight answers.

What does dog boarding software need to do?

Keep the rooms straight by night, capture feeding and medication at intake, make sure every round gets done and signed off, keep owners calm with photos, and bill the stay with the extras and the groom on one ticket. Rock Dog Pro does all of that, and it prints a run card for every kennel door.

Is Rock Dog Pro a good Gingr alternative?

For most kennels, yes. Rock Dog Pro's boarding membership is $49 a month against Gingr's Stay tier at $179 to $209, with texting included instead of a yearly bundle, and payroll and 1099s built in. Gingr has a longer list of integrations and training scheduling.

Can owners see their dog during the stay?

Yes, two ways: pupdate photos texted mid-stay and pinned to their account page, and live camera links for owners of dogs in the building (Growth tier).

Does it handle daycare too?

Yes. Daycare is its own membership with a day board by play group, a capacity meter, half and full days, prepaid packages and online daycare booking. Run boarding and daycare together and each is $10 off.

Run a real week on it.

30 days free. No card required. Once you have all your files from your old provider, upload and onboarding takes less than 3 hours.
